Wooooaaaaaa

So, I just happened to look at my toolkit, someone in the group just got that mysterious medical message saying "look for a letter in the mail regarding the decision"--you know, the one that freaks EVERYONE out and makes them think they have been denied. I'm sure she's cleared, but it freaks everyone out. I wish I could just give her a big hug and tell her to breathe!! Haha! I just know how that was. ANYWAY. I got on my toolkit to see what my message actually said--it said one thing before the letter, one thing after...any way, I noticed two things on there that I had never noticed before! I never got toolkit updates about that, so I had no clue those two things had changed.

So basically, it says (a) up in the red, that I had withdrawn my application and if I wish to reactivate it to contact placement, and (b) down at invitation, that I had declined my invitation to El Salvador.

I just had NO CLUE my ToolKit had updated to that!!! As "bleh" as that is to see, it IS good because it lets me know that my application really is able to be reactivated, which I have sometimes been nervous about just because its floating around "no man's land." Though I thought I was supposed to contact my recruiter instead of my PO? But it says Placement Office. Hrmmmm. Very interesting.

I dunno, I just found the whole update very interesting! Its been there since August without my even knowing it!

ToolKit Progress

So yesterday, Friday May 23rd, I received another ToolKit update! Woohoo! It said
Peace Corps received the results of your physical exam on May 22, 2008. In some cases, Peace Corps may requests additional medical information. Please respond quickly to these requests.
In all reality, they had probably received this about a week ago! But in PC Med style, nothing was ever entered into the computer or done until later. So hopefully, keep your fingers crossed everyone, that my medical kit is fine, I did everything I was supposed to, and don't have to get any more information! I also hope that I get medical clearance very soon! *keeps my fingers crossed* ....and that my epilepsy restriction won't mess my nomination and timeline up! ....and that I find everything out soon! .....and everything else!

Hrm

Still waiting for a Toolkit update about receiving my packet or any sort of clearance. But with that I keep in mind that there are thousands of files in their hands and even tho I have an upcoming nomination, they still get to me when they can! Also, Toolkit updates can sometimes be behind ... and at 4am. And stuff usually sits in their mail room for a day, so with all that in mind, I still hope to hear soon! :-S

A girl got an invitation today for Youth Development in Belize! So most very probably, unless I get changed, I'll be in Belize! At least that is some sort of little update for today, even tho it doesn't really pertain to me :)

Letter & ToolKit

So this past week I have gotten my nomination letter and an e-mail from the Peace Corps about a toolkit update.  My letter came addressed to me but said "Dear Jamie" so I had to clear that up to make sure I had received the right letter and there wasn't a system problem.

My Nomination Letter states my nomination number is:
168-08-044-L2         Youth Development

This translates to:
168: youth development program
08: year
044: quarter 4 of the program year
L: code for my PO
2: the second listing for my PO in this quarter

So, you see the pictures of my updated ToolKit. Basically, it now only lists information about medical and legal. I don't even know if I am able to see the older part of the ToolKit! Hrmmm.

Oh well. Now my concern is that the part talking about the PC soon sending me my medical forms isn't checked. I NEED that to be checked because she said I should get it in about 7 days from Monday. So I made my doctors appointments for Weds/Thurs/Fri of next week. The first appointment being 9 days after it could have been mailed. So, are they saying they haven't mailed my medical kit yet? Or maybe it's one of those PC things where they mail it, but really, you don't get the ToolKit check-mark until you pretty much receive it.  Since my doctor appointment on Weds is at 8:30, I really need to receive it by Tuesday. Now, since the Weds appointment is the obgyn, and she only needs to answer a couple questions, I can easily drop it off later if it doesn't come in time. But I really prefer that it would.

Oh Peace Corps, how you run me in circles!

Toolkit Update

Exciting! I received an e-mail this morning from the Peace Corps notifying me that my ToolKit had been updated. Apparently, at least in my experience, the ToolKit update emails only send during the middle of the night! It was there at 6am when I was stuck awake, but not at 12am. :) I knew they had those forms, but it was still a little scary to not see them checked off. I guess soon I get to see the whole next part of the ToolKit open up when they nominate me and send out my MedKit!

*wonders if I should start making doctors appointments for, not this week, but the middle of next...* I say yes. (luckily my dad's a dentist and I can get in any damn time I want!)
